Gleneagles High Performance Sports Campus

In a country that seems to measure its prosperity based on sporting excellence, the harnessing of South Africa’s future sports superstars in the Eastern Cape has become a priority. Producing world beaters in multiple sports disciplines, the province tends to lose out when athletes migrate away to other areas due to perceived lack of opportunity in facilities and scientific coaching intelligence. Modelled on current precedents at Tuks, Stellenbosch and Free State Universities, this campus would not be restricted to students, but open for general public use. In addition to the high-performance characteristic, it is intended research becomes the major driving force where local and national academic facilities can participate.
